This is the top 12 favourite movies, this is the first of the new top 12 we will be using on the site. 

12. The Goonies

Basic Story: Mikey and his friends set out on an adventure to find One Eyed Willy treasure.

Reason why I like it: The full sense of adventure created by Mikey and his Friends.

11. Duck Soup

Basic Story: Rufus T. Firefly is named President/dictator of a bankrupt Freedonia and declares war on neighbouring Sylvania over the love of wealth Mrs Teasdale.

Reason Why I like it: Just watching the Marx brothers at work is brilliant to watch with so many funny scenes that just haven’t seemed to have dated at all.

10. The Departed

Basic Story: Two men from opposite sides of the law are undercover within the Massachusetts state Police and the Irish Mafia, but violence and bloodshed boil when discoveries are made, and both the moles are dispatched to find out their enemy’s identities.

Reason Why I Like It: The main reason I like this is because just when you think you know what is happening something throws you off right up to the end of the film.

9. Donnie Darko

Basic Story: A troubled teenager is plagues by visions of a large bunny rabbit that manipulates him to commit a series of crimes, after narrowly escaping a bizarre accident.

Reason Why I Like It: The mystery factor is huge and the fact each time you watch it you find something else to help put the pieces together.

8. The Adjustment Bureau

Basic Story: When a Politician has a chance meeting with a beautiful girl, higher powers interfere to stop him seeing her again. Only he spends his days seeking her for one more chance meeting and once he has it must race against the powers to not lose her again.

Reason Why I Like It: The over riding love story through out the action is measured nicely to make a very touching story.

  

7. Southland Tales

Basic Story: A group of different character come together in their separate stories in a futuristic Los Angeles in the search for a new source of energy.

Reason Why I Like It: The main reason I like this is just how ambitious the idea is even though it can be hard to follow at times, but that adds to the re-watch value of this film.

6. The Brothers Bloom

Basic Story: Two brothers set out on one final con job before going their separate ways, but when a one falls in love with the woman things start to go out of control.

Reason Why I Liked It: the film flows at a very nice level and is full of twists and turns to make want to see what will happen to the very likeable characters.

5. Repo! The Genetic Opera

Basic Story: In a world where people can get organs on credit, but if you don’t pay on time a Repo Man will come for the organs. Add in that the owner of the company is dying and needs to find his replacement.

Reason Why I Liked It: This is something very different to what you are used to seeing, the songs and story through out are building to a big climax which doesn’t fail to deliver.

4. Armageddon

Basic Story: When an asteroid is heading to Earth, NASA only hope is  a team of oil drillers head by Harry Stamper who must drill on the asteroid and place bombs in it to save the Earth.

Reason Why I Liked It: This over the top action has everything you can just sit and enjoy you will fell ever emotion as the story unfolds, also full of a range of different characters who offer something to the story.

3. Inception

Basic Story: When a broken man on the fun from the law is given a chance to drop the charges. He must go into dreams and place an idea, simple idea but things start going wrong from the first part of the mission.

Reason Why I Liked It: Original idea brilliant put together, Each time you watch it you are left wondering what happened at the end.

2. 500 Days Of Summer

Basic Story: Boy meets girl but there is no happy ending, this looks at different times during and after a relationship

Reason Why I Liked It: I like that it has different ways of looking at love and shows very well not everyone has a happy ending to their relationships.

1. Brick

Basic Story: When Brendan gets a call from his old girlfriend he must enter the world of drugs to find out the truth about what has happened to her.

Reason Why I Liked It: Brilliantly shot wonderfully acted and brave noir type setting makes this my number one favourite film.
